J-2
The J-2 visa is for dependents of J-1 visa holders, including their spouses and unmarried children under 21 years old. It allows them to accompany or join the J-1 visa holder in the United States. The J-1 visa holder must have a valid J-1 status and be participating in an approved exchange visitor program. The relationship between the J-2 visa applicant and the J-1 visa holder must be documented with appropriate marriage or birth certificates.
